Our business is based upon tried and tested “old fashioned” techniques, in essence, we are a large scale production kitchen, we do not use any chemicals or additives in our food and everything we produce is done so using traditional techniques.
We purchase fresh fish from Newlyn and St Ives and try to purchase the majority of our ingredients from within Devon and Cornwall.
For example, wherever possible we use fresh vegetables that are prepared within the unit; we purchase fresh fish from Newlyn and St Ives and try to purchase the majority of our ingredients from within Devon and Cornwall. We are nationally recognised as the leaders in sustainable purchasing and the support we provide to the local community through our work with the Cornwall Food Programme is recognised internationally.
The recipes produced by the Cornwall Food have all been nutritionally analysed using the Diet Plan 6 software programme which is recognised by the NHS as the “industry standard”. This information allows the user to ensure that patients are receiving the appropriate nutrition as detailed in the British Association for Parental and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) guidelines.
